Fees & Medicare

All sessions booked through my solo online-only practice are $270 for a one-hour video consultation. The rate is the same for individual and couples therapy, whether scheduled during weekdays, evenings, or on Saturdays. Sessions will remain at this rate until being reviewed at 1 July 2027.

For individual therapy, a Medicare rebate (for up to ten sessions per calendar year) may apply if you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. Just before the session you pay in full, and then immediately after completing the session I process the rebate electronically on your behalf. Assuming that you have sessions remaining on your plan, Medicare will partially compensate you for the session fee. As of 1 July 2026, the rebate for clinical psychology sessions is $149.05 (leaving a 'gap' of $120.95 after the rebate is processed).

Medicare does not cover couples therapy, so no rebate is applicable.

If you have private health insurance, you might be able to claim partial reimbursement for sessions — check your policy's extras cover for psychology.

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before your session using the Client Portal incur no fee. Cancellations or no-shows less than 24 hours before your scheduled session are charged at the full rate of the session ($270). This policy is applied regardless of the reason for the cancellation, as the fee represents the cost of reserving that time.

Medicare doesn't cover late-cancellation or no-show fees, as rebates cannot be processed for sessions that were not attended. (Likewise, missed sessions don't count against the allocation available in your Mental Health Care Plan.)
